CAPTION: Sumaya has her ears checked and cleaned free of charge at an event run by SignHealth Uganda at Kakunyu Inclusive Nursery and Primary School in the village of Kakunyu. On these occasions, SignHealth runs cultural shows and musical performances alongside the ear screenings and HIV tests it offers in order to attract more participants. The dramas that are staged often try to describe scenarios wherein hearing impaired people express the challenges and the discrimination they face owing to their condition.
