CAPTION: Although Hue’s family own land, they lack access to water, had limited knowledge of good farming practices and have struggled to cultivate the ground because it’s very dry. Since attending training at the Women’s Association, Hue has learned how to prepare the land, when and how to apply organic fertilisers and which varieties are suitable for dry conditions. All of this together has delivered her much higher cassava and maize yields. These yields have in turn contributed to the household’s food security, reducing its reliance on food purchased from the market. LOCATION: Coong Village, Huy Tuong, Son La Province, Vietnam.
