INDIVIDUAL(S) PHOTOGRAPHED: Saifullah. LOCATION: Bhance Colony, Landhi, Karachi, Pakistan. CAPTION: Saifulla repairs a generator at his workshop in Karachi, Pakistan. Since starting out 18 years ago from a small roadside generator repair shop, Saifulla has since expanded his business into spare parts thanks to 2012 a microfinancing loan of Rs. 40,000 (£280) from the First Micro Finance Bank (FMFB). He has now completed various cycles of financing and repayment. His most recent loan totalled Rs. 150,000, which allowed him to shift his business into a larger rented space and hire three more workers. Today, his monthly revenues average around Rs. 130,000, a sum that recently enabled him to buy an old 1000 cc car for his family. Saifullah dreams of one day owning an even bigger auto-repairing workshop that also offers generator sales.
